Stem Cell Bank nOvum was established in 2004, based on the documented experience of the nOvum Clinic in the cryopreservation of cells, embryos and tissue. For many years nOvum Clinic has achieved excellent results in using frozen cells, embryos and tissue for medical procedures
SCB nOvum is the first stem cell bank in Poland founded and run by doctors: dr. Katarzyna Kozioł (Gynaecology and Obstetrics Specialist, clinical embryologist) and dr. Piotr Lewandowski (Gynaecology and Obstetrics Specialist ).
The only stem cell bank in Poland with its own, modern headquarters, under 24-hour surveillance. Our private generator and the Building Management System ensure that the medical infrastructure functions without failure.).
Our Bank uses unique containers produced by the company RaviMed to collect cord blood. The containers are compliant with European Union standards (Medical Devices Directive 93/42/CE) and allow for the collection of as much blood as possible, which in turn allows for the recovery of as many blood cells as possible.
The Bank has its own laboratories: microbiology lab, serology lab, preparatory lab and a laboratory for storing cord blood.
The Bank prepares the stem cells in a closed (sterile) system.
SCB nOvum, as the first bank in Poland, created the possibility of dividing the cord blood into two portions of identical potential in clinical use. Currently, we also offer the option of dividing the sample into four separate deposits. Two test samples are attached to each deposit cartridge. These samples can be used for testing for a match between donor and recipient (e.g. siblings) or for pre-transplant tests.
Zespół BKM nOvum tworzą pracownicy z udokumentowanym i wieloletnim doświadczeniem zarówno w realizacji procedur laboratoryjnych jak i zarządzaniu procesami kriokonserwacji i przechowywania komórek macierzystych z krwi pępowinowej.
Our unique system of storing frozen cells ensures maximum viability by eliminating Transient Warming Events - the rise in temperature, which occurs when deposits are added or removed from storage.
The Bank’s operation is sanctioned by the Ministry of Health.
